Perhaps the better question is: What do we not do?
As you may imagine, the Escape staff and guides are an adventurous group of people! When we’re not busy dreaming up the best mountain bike tours for our clients or leading fellow adventures on a bike trip of a lifetime, we’re doing what we do best: Riding! And getting ourselves into trouble (ha!). But mostly riding!
Here’s a sampling of some of the fun we had at our recent staff retreat to southwest Utah.
What do we do when we’re not working? Read below to find out!
We Haul Wood
Tour Leader Any highlights you’d to share?
“It was fun exploring some new trails and getting know some of the people who are new to company. It was their first retreat. There were some newer riders and it was cool watching them do so well. Wendy is new and she struggled but persevered. She did an awesome job!” – Eric Boxrud
So no near-death experiences, we take it?
“On one of the rides, it was getting late and we needed to head back. The day was ending so we had to ditch the trail. We had to ride under the 1-15 and along a drainage ditch.” – Eric Boxrud
Wasn’t that scary?!
“No! It was fun!”
Okay, now for the most important question…How was the food?
“The best! Especially breakfast. Plenty of fresh-brewed coffee, bagels with cream cheese and the very famous Banana Pancakes with the famous “pancake flip in the air”. Newbie tour guide Kevin managed to make his first flip in front of Jared Fisher (EA’s Director), but Jared wasn’t impressed. He had to show him how it was done. Jacques decided to cook some little sausages and they were also a hit.” – Steve Clausse
“For dinner, we had a big of chili with homemade chips and homemade bread. We baked the bread in a dutch oven. It was all really good.” – Eric Boxrud
