April 12, 2021

Coming up this April 17th to the 25th, it’s National Park Week. More than just a place to vacation, the National Parks are America’s treasured outdoor spaces. So setting aside an entire week to celebrate National Parks? We’re here for it! The goal of this week is to draw awareness to protecting wildlife and park lands, preserving history and culture, educating and engaging all generations, and connecting people everywhere to the beauty of parks. There are currently 423 National Parks, but we wanted to highlight just a couple of our favorites. No matter where you are, we encourage you to #findyourpark this coming week and connect with nature.

Canyonlands National Park

UTAH – Canyonlands, Arches & Moab Multi-Sport Mountain Bike Tour

Canyonlands National Park is an American national park located in southeastern Utah near the town of Moab. The park preserves a colorful landscape eroded into numerous canyons, mesas, and buttes by the Colorado River, the Green River, and their respective tributaries. Many of our Southern Utah tours involve the beautiful Canyonlands. But if you’d like to have a diverse experience out there, the Canyonlands, Arches & Moab Multi-Sport MTB tour is guaranteed to keep you on your toes! It features mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and rafting. Canyonlands is truly Southern Utah’s playground, full of natural wonders.

Saguaro National Park

ARIZONA – Tucson Sonoran Desert Road Bike Tour

Another Park we love is Saguaro National Park. The giant saguaro is the universal symbol of the American west. These majestic plants, found only in a small portion of the United States, are protected by Saguaro National Park, to the east and west of the modern city of Tucson. Our Tucson Sonoran Desert Road Bike Tour takes you on gorgeous loops through the 95,000-acre wilderness.

NATIONAL PARK WEEK: The annual celebratory spotlight on our national parks will run from April 17 through 25, and that opening day will include a fee-free welcome at the 100+ parks and places in the system that usually ask an entry fee. That free day is understandably one of the headlines of National Park Week, but there are so many more elements to acknowledge. “Parks across the country will host a variety of special programs, events, and digital experiences,” shares the National Park Service, and the National Park Foundation, the service’s charity partner, is also in on the fun. And we do emphasize “fun”: There’s a theme for each day of the 2021 event, so best prep for Volunteer Sunday, Friendship Friday, as well as some other awesome, day-long to-dos.

AND EARTH DAY? You can bet that April 22 will be devoted to planet-embracing pastimes. See all the themes now, and decide which parks you might call upon (or if you’ll join in from home, thanks to the digital element of the event).
