Excerpt from the travel log of Escape Adventures guest Dan Smith
We met in the morning at Moab Cyclery before 8:00 AM where veteran guides Eric and Zephyr were on the truck rigging up. My friend Tony and I flew from Boston. Soon the other two guests arrived; Mark and Clint, both coincidentally from San Diego. Much surfing talk would ensue over the days to come. The six of us packed into the Ford Super Duty club cab pickup. We drove south from Moab toward Canyonlands’ Needles District, past Newspaper Rock to the entrance of Cottonwood Canyon where we unloaded the bikes. This is my 13th bike tour with Escape Adventures and my rental bike for this adventure was a Stump Jumper 29er full suspension, “2 x 10”. Except for a fussy seat clamp, it was the sweetest rental I’ve ever had!
