Yellowstone & Tetons Mountain Biking, Rafting, Climbing & Hiking Tour
Escape Adventures is thrilled to offer a six-day multisport tour of Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. Guests will encounter the area’s numerous natural attractions, including Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, the Gros Ventre and Wind River mountain ranges, and more. Activities include mountain biking, rafting, hiking, and rock climbing. This unique multi-sport adventure focuses on the best outdoor adventures the Tetons and Yellowstone have to offer and can be done from either a camping setting or a casual inns tour.

Day 1 Antelope Flats: The adventure launches from Jackson, WY and stays mostly within the 310,000-acre Grand Teton National Park and the adjoining National Forest. Guests will mountain bike through the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, amidst the largest concentration of big and small mammals in the Lower 48: Wyoming moose to Grizzly bear, wolf, Bison, and Bighorn sheep, elk, Black bear, Pronghorn antelope to puma, Mountain goat, otter, Bald eagle, Pine Marten to Marmot. The 12-25 mile ride, depending on fitness level, is smooth and scenic and a great introduction to our week.
Day 2 Jackson Hole: Today’s adventure takes guests to raft eight miles of the Snake River, with legendary rapids like Big Kahuna, Lunch Counter, and Cottonwood.
Day 3 Shadow Mountain and Teton National Park: The introductory ride in the Tetons unfolds on Shadow Mountain, a 12-mile loop system rated a four-star/intermediate trail. Next, shuttle into the eastern section of Grand Teton National Park, home to not only bison and moose but also North America’s smallest bird: the Calliope Hummingbird.
Day 4 Rock Climbing and Hiking Tetons: Ferry across majestic Jenny Lake and hike up Cascade Canyon located in the heart of the Tetons. Spend the day climbing routes based on ability. This program works well and is most popular for individuals, groups of friends, and families. Cross into Bridger-Teton National Forest, the third-largest outside Alaska.
Day 5 Hike Yellowstone: After a quick stop at West Thumb, drive past beautiful Yellowstone Lake along Grand Loop Road past herds of wild bison and other wildlife. Near Artist Point, stop to hike two miles down to the breathtaking Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. The roaring splendor of the Upper and Lowers Falls unfolds from a canyon overlook, with columns plunging dramatically into the Yellowstone River. End the day at Old Faithful.
Day 6 | Munger Mountain: The final mountain bike ride of the tour could be defined as something of a victory lap: a triumphal celebration of an epic Teton tour through the Munger Mountain loop. Peaking out at 7,100 ft., riders will gain 1,500 ft. of climbing while dropping 1,400 ft. before heading into some short, more techie stretches.
Multi-Sport Tour of New Mexico (Mountain Bike)
Escape Adventures also offers a unique six-day New Mexico multi-sport adventure. Activities include mountain biking the South Boundary Trail, hiking/biking at Angel Fire Resort and the Enchanted Forest XC Ski Area, trekking to Middle Fork Lake, rafting the Rio Grande, soaking in hot springs, and exploring Bandelier National Monument. Day 1-2: Meet in Santa Fe. Shuttle to Taos then up to Garcia Park. Spend the next two nights above 9,000 feet in a beautiful alpine environment. Ride on the South Boundary Trail and descend to Taos along the Rio Chiquito. Visit Pot Creek Cultural Site. Stroll through Taos Plaza.
Day 3-4: Descend the Bobsled Trail to Angel Fire Resort. Spend the afternoon riding and hiking Angel Fire’s world-class lift access trail system. Shuttle to Red River for the night. Ride the Enchanted Forest XC Ski Area with a descent down Old Red River Pass. Hike to Middle Fork Lake in the afternoon then stroll through the small town of Red River.
Day 5-6: Raft all day through the exciting Taos Box section of the Rio Grande. Hike the Indian ruins of Bandelier National Monument. Shuttle back to Santa Fe.

Day 1: The day’s first ride shoots east towards Mount St. Helens, the most active stratovolcano in the Cascade Range. The afternoon stage sweeps around 23-mile long Riffe Lake, a reservoir on the Cowlitz River. The ride churns up and down Mount Rainier’s western slope and closes out in Ashland, OR at the Deep Forest Cabins and Valley Cottages.
Day 2: This ride sweeps up the western side of the 236,381-acre Mount Rainier National Park. One of the highlights is riding past Nisqually Glacier. The descent passes Tatoosh Peaks and 25 equally distinctive and prominent peaks: from Moon Mountain to Unicorn Peak. The ride ultimately meanders into the Grove of the Patriarchs, a remote, deep valley given palpable majesty by stands of enormous old-growth trees. From the Ohanapecosh area at the southeast edge of Mount Rainier National Park, the peloton sweeps along the Cowlitz River. Merging onto US Route 12, riders will throttle back on level blacktop 15-miles to the Crest Trail Lodge.
Day 3: Depending on route options, preferences, and road conditions, today’s ride ranges from 22 to 97 Pacific Rim miles. Paralleling the Cowlitz River, riders will pedal through the hamlet of Randle; then into the 1.32 million-acre Gifford Pinchot National Forest, one of America’s oldest national forests. The day wraps at the Columbia River Gorge, more than 4000-ft deep and stretching some 80-miles in length. Overnight in luxury at the Skamania Lodge resort in Stevenson, WA.
Day 4: Heading east, guests will hike to Multnomah Falls, Oregon’s tallest waterfall and the second-highest in America. Next, they’ll ride over the Bridge of the Gods and the Lewis and Clark Highway, with the Columbia River a churning-rushing constant on one side. The stage climaxes at Hood River where riders will overnight in style at the Columbia River Gorge Hotel and Spa.
Day 5: Closing out, the ride pours over the historic Columbia River Highway. Built from 1913 to 1922, this scenic byway overlooks the Gorge before linking with Highway 2. Now closed to cars, the erstwhile highway has been reimagined and reborn into a rather exemplary bike path, sweeping through a succession of timeworn tunnels and along broad, picturesque cliffs. After lunch, shuttle back to Portland.
