The Escape Adventures Experience

Stop, go outdoors. Take a deep breath. Ride, Hike, Relax. Experience it all. Welcome to Escape Adventures.

Escape Adventures is often imitated, but never duplicated

Since 1992, we have innovated adventure travel. We were the first to bring multi-day off road touring to Taos New Mexico, Escalante and Brianhead Utah, Arkansas and Nevada to name a few. We built the only support vehicle that could take guests all the way into the Maze District of Canyonlands National Park. We brought signature food recipes to backcountry camping that are now staples on many of our clients dining room tables. We were the first to offer full suspension bikes in the bike touring business. The first and only company that has built environmentally friendly, LEED Platinum- Net Zero Energy facilities to house both operational and retail business. We standardized the bicycle rack systems to haul bicycles safely across the rough desert terrain of Moab Utah. We annually are often one of the few companies that clears downfall on the trails we use.

For over 25 years, the hallmark of an Escape Adventures tour is personalized, hands-on service. Before, during, and after each trip. We are a company of honesty and integrity and we stand behind our product 100%. From the moment you learn of our trips, to the time you return home and start planning your next trip, we are here to bring you the best possible experience.

From our Guaranteed Trip Departure Confirmation Policy, making sure your trip is never cancelled, to our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee Policy, backing the unrivaled consistent quality of all our tours, our commitment to you is never compromised.

Our Commitment to The Environment

Our environmental commitment is second to none. It is our way of doing business, our way of being.

At Escape Adventures, we want to make the world a better place. More importantly we believe in leading by example. We run our tours the same way we run our company, with an eye on the triple bottom line: People, Profit & Planet. This means we treat our customers, our community, and our planet with respect, and let our business grow organically. We have always run a value-based and mission-driven company.

At Escape Adventures, we elected to pursue a more comprehensive approach to actually reduce our carbon footprint, rather than just offset it. We overhauled our entire operation — from our vehicles, to our buildings, to our procedures — to become an outdoor industry leader in the charge to help our people and our planet.

Exceptional Service, Exceptional Trip Leaders

Escape Adventures Bike Tour Guide

Leading tours naturally followed from our passion of exploring our favorite places with our friends. As we’ve expanded our service throughout the years from daily biking tours to a vast selection of multi-day mountain biking, road biking, hiking, and multi-sport tours across the nation, our philosophy hasn’t changed. For us it’s all about enjoying and protecting the natural environment and sharing the places and activities we love.

Our support staff includes our reservation team who is there to answer your questions about the tours, our service team who prepares your bike and gear for the tour, and our guide team – the ones who take you into the great outdoors. The highest level of responsibility, good nature, integrity, and dedication are standard traits of all those who work at Escape Adventures. We our proud of it and we think you should know it.

The Best Support Vehicles

Having custom-made vehicles allows us to take you to places few other outfitters can, or will go. Every Escape Adventures tour is accompanied by at least one support vehicle, trailer, and in some cases a second and third transfer van. As you thumb through our catalog, you will also notice our vehicles are big, tough, and different. These are not stock vehicles. After purchase, we custom engineer our trucks, vans, and trailers by our on-staff mechanic to meet the unique needs of different tours. For example, certain trucks are specifically designed for The White Rim and The Maze, while others are designed for The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. We also innovate and try new things with our fleet; Notably, in 2007, we converted many of our support vehicles to vegetable-oil burning engines. We were able to reduce our carbon footprint significantly for more than 5 years! Amazingly, we didn’t sacrifice performance.

It doesn’t just end with a great support vehicle, you need experienced and qualified drivers. Each of our guides is required to be trained in safe vehicle operation, 4X4 driving, and basic maintenance. Our experienced guides make it look easy, transporting you and up to 12 guests, along with their bikes, fresh food, camping gear and plenty of drinking water to a remote location.

The Best Bicycles and Gear

Arizona-North Rim of the Grand Canyon Mountain Bike Tour

Make your trip as comfortable as possible on the body, as simple as possible for traveling, and hasstle free on tour. By choosing to rent a bike from us, we will fit you with the newest, highest quality gear in the industry. Escape Adventures provides only high-end bicycles from Santa Cruz and Specialized. We replace our rental fleet each season to ensure all our rentals meet our standards. All of our mountain bikes are equipped with full suspension frames and disc brakes designed for a smooth, comfortable ride. For those who are touring with a companion who may not be as fit or need a little help up the hills, we now have eMountainbikes (electric pedal assist) available on select tours.

Camping gear may be rented or you may bring your own. All of our camping gear is tested and hand-chosen from top manufacturers to ensure you get a good nights’ sleep. Our camp gear package includes a three-man tent with fly and a ground tarp, 30-degree sleeping bag, bag liner, camp pillow, and self-inflating ground pad.

The Best Food

Our food isn’t just good, it’s good for you. Food is a big part of the Escape Adventures experience. Our guides prepare all of your meals on our camping trips, while most dinners and breakfasts are served at local restaurants on our inn tours. Expect three delicious meals a day consisting entirely of freshly prepared foods. These include fresh organic fruits and vegetables as well as meats. We also have energy snacks aboard our support vehicles. Don’t be surprised if your guides purchase fresh fruits and healthy snacks throughout the day while you are out riding. They may just show up on the trail with a local treat!

On our Camping Tours guides prepare gourmet meals out in the open, grilling fajitas over an open fire and baking enchilada pie in an outdoor Dutch oven. Some of our guests’ favorite guide specialties include blueberry pancakes for breakfast, veggie-feta wraps and pasta for lunch, and bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms and deep dish pizza for dinner. And we don’t forget the dessert either- from pineapple upside down cake to chocolate fondue, there’s sure to be something to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Many of our guests are vegans or vegetarians, whom we are more than happy to accommodate. If you have special diet requirements or limitations, just let us know when you sign-up and we’ll work with you to meet your needs.

The Best and Most Unique Accommodations

We know that a good night’s sleep is the key to a great day of adventure. With Escape Adventures you are able to experience unique style and local hospitality in the best inns and campsites available.

Luxury Inns and Premiere Restaurants

When we refer to the term Luxury, we refer to, “the very best”. Our founder, Jared Fisher, not only claims a professional education in Hotel and Restaurant Management, he’s also a student of the culinary arts. His working knowledge and familiarity with elite hospitality carried over to the selection of our lodgings. Each Luxury Inn was handpicked in advance: the criteria being 4-5-star service, room quality, and cultural themes. Our restaurants are chosen in a similar fashion: emphasizing experience and culture, but with particular attention paid to best local ingredients. Look for Luxury Inns and Restaurants on select tours.

Casual Inns, Cool Hotels, and Cozy Cabins

Casual Inns, Cool Hotels, Cozy Cabins | Escape Adventures

Because of the nature of our very remote trekking and traveling locales, we retire to only the best, handpicked hotels and available inns. Put another way, we take your decompression seriously. Our Casual Inn tours provide the best of both worlds: enjoy exciting outdoor adventures by day; then return to town each evening for a scrumptious meal. Followed by bedding down warm and ultra comfortably.

We choose inn accommodations that add another rather distinct dimension to your travel. From special amenities like hot tubs and fireplaces, to historic character and unique charm, our inns offer you something extra. While the inns featured on our tours vary from rustic cabins to luxurious spa retreats, we always seek out lodging to enhance and complement the unique flavor of each destination. After all, your evenings shouldn’t be a break from an outstanding trip, but rather a flawless extension of it.

Escape Adventures has developed a special program to seek out and support only high quality, if not most environmentally conscious suppliers. This operating mindset ensures that those who furnish accommodations on our trips share our passion for protecting our environment. So not only do all of our inns offer outstanding service and reliable, inviting accommodations, many also share concern for our communities. And the only planet we have.

First-Class Camping

The food tastes better, the sky is certainly bigger, and your mind is clearer.

There is nothing better than rolling into camp to fresh made chips and salsa, homemade guacamole, and Dutch oven enchiladas. Then making your way to a sweet and inviting campfire, sharing your favorite anecdote or image from the day’s activities while marshmallows roast. Enjoy a small-batch, local beer before retiring to your tent. Inside: a sturdy raised cot, fluffy sleeping bag, and a plush full size pillow. Wow. You earned this. Sweet dreams.

We choose well-maintained public campgrounds with scenic vistas and comfortable arrangements. You’ll move seamlessly from one day of your trip to the next, camping outdoors and enjoying wildly healthy, delicious homemade meals.

The majority of our selected campgrounds feature indoor facilities and showers. Conversely, in more remote backcountry camping scenarios, we’ll provide portable toilets and private solar showers.

The Most Traveling Options

Year after year our guests return with their family and friends. Why? Because we build each trip around your needs. We work within your financial boundaries to make your trip the best value. Our Guaranteed Trip Departure Confirmation, 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, Price Match Guarantee, and Loyal Guest Program are a few reasons nearly all of our guests return year after year.

The Original Escape Adventures Trip

An Escape Adventure trip is a great way to enjoy the company of other active travelers and the camaraderie of shared interests. Travel Solo or with a friend- or two. A cornerstone to our trips are small groups. For over 25 years, Escape Adventures has been taking outdoor enthusiasts beyond the “average” vacation and into the exciting world of small-group adventure travel. Our Guide to Guest ratio is the best in the industry, with an average of 1 guide for every 5 guests. Our small groups of 6 to 13 guests allow for flexible schedules, individualized service, comfort, and deeper backcountry adventure. Don’t be surprised if you come away from your tour with more friends than you had when you arrived!

Many of our tours include guests traveling on their own. Our structured tours and small groups are ideal for solo travelers. On Inn Tours we offer a single-supplement to guarantee you have your own room, or you can let us try to pair you up and share a room with 2 queen beds with another traveler. If we don’t find you a match, you still get your own room at no additional cost to you.

Epic, Awesome, Amazing! My parents and I went on a 5-day guided mountain e-biking trip through Moab, Utah (I think it's call the Best of Moab). Our guides were Will and Andrea, and they sure knew how to show us The Best of Moab! This trip far exceeded our expectations. We were expecting to see some cool sights but what we saw really blew our minds! And being able to mountain bike while visiting some of the most epic views was a really special experience. Our skill levels were varied, and Will and Andrea did such a great job planning the days to accommodate all of our needs, which didn't seem like an easy task! They also made us the most delicious meals (future chefs?). They did a great job at encouraging us to try new things while making sure to teach us how to be safe and comfortable. They were also just a true joy to be around! We felt really taken care of and that they went the extra mile to show us a truly memorable experience. We'll never forget it!

Epic adventure Our guides, Chris, Elijah and Ervin, were absolutely wonderful. They made sure we were taken care of the entire trip - from fresh brewed coffee in the morning to delicious dinners around a campfire at night. The adventures never ended - our amazing guides kept us busy, encouraging us to step out of our comfort zones while always keeping us safe and respecting our limitations - a perfect balance! Our group brought different skill levels to this adventure and our guides tailored our experiences to ensure everyone walked away amazed by the feats they accomplished! It was a perfect experience - we didn’t have to fuss or worry about meals, the right trails to take, the camping location that offered the most beautiful sunrises. As a guest, our attention was devoted to the mid blowing scenery and epic biking and hiking! This was truly a weekend that we’ll always remember and are looking forward to booking again in the near future!

The Maze Mountain Bike Tour - Utah The Maze Mountain Biking and Hiking 5 Day Tour - was truly amazing. The Escape Adventure team has put together a well planned and unique tour. The days were well planned and guided throughout. The food was simply exquisite. I ended several days saying - that was the best day riding I've ever had.

White Rim Trail Adventure I was on the four-day White Rim Trail Mountain Bike Ride. It is a highly recommended trip. Fantastic scenery and delicious food! I think I put on weight, despite all of the exercise. 🙂

Will is a wonderful cook and Adriana worked so hard, but she was always smiling. They were great guides and took very good care of us. I couldn't have asked for more.

I had a fantastic trip. I'll be coming back next year.

Go on the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands - Unforgettable! Wow, the 4 day bike/camp along the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands was seriously the most epic trip we've done in the States. I usually don't write reviews, but this trip was so amazing that anyone who's into biking (or even if you're not - we just own beach cruisers at home!) should go on it. It was probably the best way to see Canyonlands since you get to cover a lot of ground and in the most exhilarating (and also tiring -those uphills) way. Merrick and Troy were truly the best guides making sure everyone was well fed at camp and taken care of along the bike trail. The food was absolutely delicious and healthy. I was worried about the condition of the pit toilets along the way, but they were all surprisingly very clean. We rented bikes from EA and they were like the cadillacs of bikes...felt super secure riding over most terrain with them. If you want excitement, epic scenery, comfort at camp, and an unforgettable experience, book this trip!

I booked a mountain bike tour with Escape Adventures for my trip in Vegas. Chris and Christian were awesome tour guides who took us through some fun trails. They were also very knowledgeable about the terrain and it’s history. Escape Adventures provided full suspension bikes that were perfect for the trails we covered that day. The tour included helmets and water as well. If you’re a beginner rider I recommend to work on your cardio before the tour date.

Perfect Family Bike trip in Southern Utah My family had an EPIC trip mountain biking with Escape Adventures in Southern Utah. We met the crew in St. George and drove to our camping spot on the Gooseberry Mesa outside of Hurricane. I cannot say enough great things about Will and Carter. They were so supportive and patient with my 10yr and 11yr and planned out the perfect rides, meals, and views. I will be recommending this exact trip and Escape Adventures to everyone.

Oregon Coast Road Bike Tour My brother and my youngest daughter and I traveled on the Oregon Coast Road bike tour 8/30-9/4 staying in lovely Inns each night. Our 86 year old mom joined us for 3 days and nights in the middle of the trip. The Inns were quite luxurious, with beautiful views. It was a fantastic trip with challenging cycling and gorgeous vistas of the Oregon coast. We enjoyed fine dining in the restaurants along the way and excellent daily lunches prepared on the road by our fabulous guides (and chefs) Will Bradley and Alex Perz. They were truly superb guides, with the perfect combination of organization/leadership/bike mechanic skills, and warm personalities, laughter, and encouragement, that made our small group along with our new friend Stewart from Texas all feel like a family together from day one. Will and Alex made a perfect team alternating the driving duties and cycling guides with us on the road. We look forward to another Escape Adventure trip in the future.

The BEST Guides I was able to join my son and daughter and granddaughter on their bike excursion on the north coast of Oregon.
I joined them in Pacific City and Newport. I stayed with them in the hotels and ate breakfast and dinner with them each day. The hotel accommodations were excellent. Wonderful balconies with views of the ocean, and fireplaces. The restaurants were fun and great food. (picked by Will). The best of all were the guides Will, and Alex. They were always cheerful and helpful and absolutely charming. I am not able to ride but will treasure my memories of the Oregon Coast, quality time with my children and those two extrodinary young men Will and Alex.

Wonderful experience! Irving was our tour guide and he took us out with great knowledge and reassurance during the 100+ degree weather. He was incredibly friendly and energetic, but mostly patient with us and our needs to take breaks every now and then. We will definitely be coming back in cooler weather to take another tour with Irving!

Great Road Bike Multi Sport Tour in Wyoming.

We did a family vacation out of Jackson, WY and into Yellowstone and the Grand Teton National Park.

It was 5 nights and 6 days that included road biking, water rafting, hiking and rock climbing. We were afraid that due to Covid the experience was going to be sub par but it was great.

Merrick and Carter were great hosts. The selected hotels were really good and due to limited services our guides cooked for us delicious meals.

Jackson and Grand Teton are very bike friendly with lots of roads dedicated to bikes and away from the cars. Yellowstone is more crowded but we still had a couple of good rides there.

We are a family of four with very different skill levels for riding but Merrick and Carter kept all of us engaged with different routes and distances.

The water rafting and rock climbing excursions they chose for us were really good. The hikes they selected always included getting to a body of water as my daughter likes to swim every time she has a chance. Even on the day we only planned rock climbing they offered to go on a bike ride with me so we climbed Signal Mountain and it was the best ride of the vacation.

I will be looking for another opportunity to take another vacation with Escape Adventures. Highly recommended

We are a family of 4 with 2 kids 12 and 10 from New England who were looking for a Western adventure camp/hike/bike trip in gorgeous outback. I found these guys online and boy, did they exceed all expectations! From Kevin handling questions and finding the right trip to our amazing guides Will and Billy, this co. is top notch. They are experienced, safe, use top notch equipment and bikes, and are great handling kids! Trust me on that last point, as our kids were not always motivated or, let’s say, agreeable.... For reference, we did the Sawtooth multi-day and it was all that and then some! Do yourself and your spouse a big favor and let Escape handle your family’s back country adventure!
