The Escape Adventures Experience

Stop, go outdoors. Take a deep breath. Ride, Hike, Relax. Experience it all. Welcome to Escape Adventures.

Escape Adventures is often imitated, but never duplicated

Since 1992, we have innovated adventure travel. We were the first to bring multi-day off road touring to Taos New Mexico, Escalante and Brianhead Utah, Arkansas and Nevada to name a few. We built the only support vehicle that could take guests all the way into the Maze District of Canyonlands National Park. We brought signature food recipes to backcountry camping that are now staples on many of our clients dining room tables. We were the first to offer full suspension bikes in the bike touring business. The first and only company that has built environmentally friendly, LEED Platinum- Net Zero Energy facilities to house both operational and retail business. We standardized the bicycle rack systems to haul bicycles safely across the rough desert terrain of Moab Utah. We annually are often one of the few companies that clears downfall on the trails we use.

For over 25 years, the hallmark of an Escape Adventures tour is personalized, hands-on service. Before, during, and after each trip. We are a company of honesty and integrity and we stand behind our product 100%. From the moment you learn of our trips, to the time you return home and start planning your next trip, we are here to bring you the best possible experience.

From our Guaranteed Trip Departure Confirmation Policy, making sure your trip is never cancelled, to our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee Policy, backing the unrivaled consistent quality of all our tours, our commitment to you is never compromised.

Our Commitment to The Environment

Our environmental commitment is second to none. It is our way of doing business, our way of being.

At Escape Adventures, we want to make the world a better place. More importantly we believe in leading by example. We run our tours the same way we run our company, with an eye on the triple bottom line: People, Profit & Planet. This means we treat our customers, our community, and our planet with respect, and let our business grow organically. We have always run a value-based and mission-driven company.

At Escape Adventures, we elected to pursue a more comprehensive approach to actually reduce our carbon footprint, rather than just offset it. We overhauled our entire operation — from our vehicles, to our buildings, to our procedures — to become an outdoor industry leader in the charge to help our people and our planet.

Exceptional Service, Exceptional Trip Leaders

Escape Adventures Bike Tour Guide

Leading tours naturally followed from our passion of exploring our favorite places with our friends. As we’ve expanded our service throughout the years from daily biking tours to a vast selection of multi-day mountain biking, road biking, hiking, and multi-sport tours across the nation, our philosophy hasn’t changed. For us it’s all about enjoying and protecting the natural environment and sharing the places and activities we love.

Our support staff includes our reservation team who is there to answer your questions about the tours, our service team who prepares your bike and gear for the tour, and our guide team – the ones who take you into the great outdoors. The highest level of responsibility, good nature, integrity, and dedication are standard traits of all those who work at Escape Adventures. We our proud of it and we think you should know it.

The Best Support Vehicles

Having custom-made vehicles allows us to take you to places few other outfitters can, or will go. Every Escape Adventures tour is accompanied by at least one support vehicle, trailer, and in some cases a second and third transfer van. As you thumb through our catalog, you will also notice our vehicles are big, tough, and different. These are not stock vehicles. After purchase, we custom engineer our trucks, vans, and trailers by our on-staff mechanic to meet the unique needs of different tours. For example, certain trucks are specifically designed for The White Rim and The Maze, while others are designed for The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. We also innovate and try new things with our fleet; Notably, in 2007, we converted many of our support vehicles to vegetable-oil burning engines. We were able to reduce our carbon footprint significantly for more than 5 years! Amazingly, we didn’t sacrifice performance.

It doesn’t just end with a great support vehicle, you need experienced and qualified drivers. Each of our guides is required to be trained in safe vehicle operation, 4X4 driving, and basic maintenance. Our experienced guides make it look easy, transporting you and up to 12 guests, along with their bikes, fresh food, camping gear and plenty of drinking water to a remote location.

The Best Bicycles and Gear

Arizona-North Rim of the Grand Canyon Mountain Bike Tour

Make your trip as comfortable as possible on the body, as simple as possible for traveling, and hasstle free on tour. By choosing to rent a bike from us, we will fit you with the newest, highest quality gear in the industry. Escape Adventures provides only high-end bicycles from Santa Cruz and Specialized. We replace our rental fleet each season to ensure all our rentals meet our standards. All of our mountain bikes are equipped with full suspension frames and disc brakes designed for a smooth, comfortable ride. For those who are touring with a companion who may not be as fit or need a little help up the hills, we now have eMountainbikes (electric pedal assist) available on select tours.

Camping gear may be rented or you may bring your own. All of our camping gear is tested and hand-chosen from top manufacturers to ensure you get a good nights’ sleep. Our camp gear package includes a three-man tent with fly and a ground tarp, 30-degree sleeping bag, bag liner, camp pillow, and self-inflating ground pad.

The Best Food

Our food isn’t just good, it’s good for you. Food is a big part of the Escape Adventures experience. Our guides prepare all of your meals on our camping trips, while most dinners and breakfasts are served at local restaurants on our inn tours. Expect three delicious meals a day consisting entirely of freshly prepared foods. These include fresh organic fruits and vegetables as well as meats. We also have energy snacks aboard our support vehicles. Don’t be surprised if your guides purchase fresh fruits and healthy snacks throughout the day while you are out riding. They may just show up on the trail with a local treat!

On our Camping Tours guides prepare gourmet meals out in the open, grilling fajitas over an open fire and baking enchilada pie in an outdoor Dutch oven. Some of our guests’ favorite guide specialties include blueberry pancakes for breakfast, veggie-feta wraps and pasta for lunch, and bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms and deep dish pizza for dinner. And we don’t forget the dessert either- from pineapple upside down cake to chocolate fondue, there’s sure to be something to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Many of our guests are vegans or vegetarians, whom we are more than happy to accommodate. If you have special diet requirements or limitations, just let us know when you sign-up and we’ll work with you to meet your needs.

The Best and Most Unique Accommodations

We know that a good night’s sleep is the key to a great day of adventure. With Escape Adventures you are able to experience unique style and local hospitality in the best inns and campsites available.

Luxury Inns and Premiere Restaurants

When we refer to the term Luxury, we refer to, “the very best”. Our founder, Jared Fisher, not only claims a professional education in Hotel and Restaurant Management, he’s also a student of the culinary arts. His working knowledge and familiarity with elite hospitality carried over to the selection of our lodgings. Each Luxury Inn was handpicked in advance: the criteria being 4-5-star service, room quality, and cultural themes. Our restaurants are chosen in a similar fashion: emphasizing experience and culture, but with particular attention paid to best local ingredients. Look for Luxury Inns and Restaurants on select tours.

Casual Inns, Cool Hotels, and Cozy Cabins

Casual Inns, Cool Hotels, Cozy Cabins | Escape Adventures

Because of the nature of our very remote trekking and traveling locales, we retire to only the best, handpicked hotels and available inns. Put another way, we take your decompression seriously. Our Casual Inn tours provide the best of both worlds: enjoy exciting outdoor adventures by day; then return to town each evening for a scrumptious meal. Followed by bedding down warm and ultra comfortably.

We choose inn accommodations that add another rather distinct dimension to your travel. From special amenities like hot tubs and fireplaces, to historic character and unique charm, our inns offer you something extra. While the inns featured on our tours vary from rustic cabins to luxurious spa retreats, we always seek out lodging to enhance and complement the unique flavor of each destination. After all, your evenings shouldn’t be a break from an outstanding trip, but rather a flawless extension of it.

Escape Adventures has developed a special program to seek out and support only high quality, if not most environmentally conscious suppliers. This operating mindset ensures that those who furnish accommodations on our trips share our passion for protecting our environment. So not only do all of our inns offer outstanding service and reliable, inviting accommodations, many also share concern for our communities. And the only planet we have.

First-Class Camping

The food tastes better, the sky is certainly bigger, and your mind is clearer.

There is nothing better than rolling into camp to fresh made chips and salsa, homemade guacamole, and Dutch oven enchiladas. Then making your way to a sweet and inviting campfire, sharing your favorite anecdote or image from the day’s activities while marshmallows roast. Enjoy a small-batch, local beer before retiring to your tent. Inside: a sturdy raised cot, fluffy sleeping bag, and a plush full size pillow. Wow. You earned this. Sweet dreams.

We choose well-maintained public campgrounds with scenic vistas and comfortable arrangements. You’ll move seamlessly from one day of your trip to the next, camping outdoors and enjoying wildly healthy, delicious homemade meals.

The majority of our selected campgrounds feature indoor facilities and showers. Conversely, in more remote backcountry camping scenarios, we’ll provide portable toilets and private solar showers.

The Most Traveling Options

Year after year our guests return with their family and friends. Why? Because we build each trip around your needs. We work within your financial boundaries to make your trip the best value. Our Guaranteed Trip Departure Confirmation, 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, Price Match Guarantee, and Loyal Guest Program are a few reasons nearly all of our guests return year after year.

The Original Escape Adventures Trip

An Escape Adventure trip is a great way to enjoy the company of other active travelers and the camaraderie of shared interests. Travel Solo or with a friend- or two. A cornerstone to our trips are small groups. For over 25 years, Escape Adventures has been taking outdoor enthusiasts beyond the “average” vacation and into the exciting world of small-group adventure travel. Our Guide to Guest ratio is the best in the industry, with an average of 1 guide for every 5 guests. Our small groups of 6 to 13 guests allow for flexible schedules, individualized service, comfort, and deeper backcountry adventure. Don’t be surprised if you come away from your tour with more friends than you had when you arrived!

Many of our tours include guests traveling on their own. Our structured tours and small groups are ideal for solo travelers. On Inn Tours we offer a single-supplement to guarantee you have your own room, or you can let us try to pair you up and share a room with 2 queen beds with another traveler. If we don’t find you a match, you still get your own room at no additional cost to you.

Great way to get out and see the Las Vegas nature Punctual pickup at Bellagio, we were a group of 10. Our guide did great job setting expectations, helping us pick the best 2 hour option based on group skill level. Having a beautiful day surely helped, also all the great bikes that were given to us. Red Rock Hike - Calico Tanks My husband and I enjoyed a great hike with Scott this past Saturday. The trail we went on was beautiful and Scott knew all the best spots where other hikers weren't going. We enjoyed the day and would recommend the tour.

Wow experience! First off all; the guide is great! Easy going, fit and he could read our (fit and small) group so we did some extra trails. Flat, downhill, technical, climbing, full speed; everything what we would like to do was in the tour. Great experience to bike in the rocky desert!

Half day Mtn Bike trip to Red Rock Canyon Las Vegas. We booked a half day mtn bike trip through Escape Adventires and we were not disappointed. Irving was our guide who took care of everything from our pick up at the Mirrage Hotel. The half hour drive was quite enjoyable getting to know the other 2 riders in our group from Europe. Irving asked the right questions assessing our abilities before actually riding. Once we got to our staging area 'Late Night Trail Head' at one of the many trail staging areas of Red Rock Canyon, Irving was very thorough on the details of our Specialized Stumpjumpers. Luckily our group were all familiar with bikes and we didn't have to spend too much time besides adjusting seat posts. Right off the start onto Mustang Trail Irving lead a fast pace just to asses our groups abilities. From there it was a very well guided trip. We stopped to talk about the Flora and Fauna of the area which Irving was very knowledgable with. We even saw wild Donkeys ! We stopped to take in the great views of the area and glimpses of the Stratosphere of the Vegas strip. Of course there was always a photo opportunity and Irving was always willing to take. The trails that were chosen were perfect for all the riders abilities. Safety was always a priority for our guide and rightfully so as the riding is sometimes on loose rocks on top of some hard pack dirt. Our trip was in December and was perfect temperature for doing an activity like Mtn Biking in the desert. Would highly recommend booking a trip through Escape Adventures.

Great experience on this ride! To be able to see and enjoy Red Rocks the way we did was amazing. Our guide made it all possible from the moment he picked us up to the time we were dropped off he was amazing. We came out for a business conference and stayed a day later to see the sights and we were rewarded with a great time. Highlight of our whole trip!!!

Mountain biking is fun Had a wonderful half day in Red Rock Canyon with Escape Adventures and the good guide Irving (and another mountain biker). Very nice trails, good bikes and wonderful nature. This is a trip not to be missed, when you want to get away from the Strip and see another side of Vegas.

Best thing I did in Vegas Scott was an awesome, knowledgeable, and fun guide. No pressure and didn't judge me for me rookie experience. I never felt rushed, and even though I slowed down pretty bad towards the end, he always made sure I was doing ok. 10/10 would recommend if ya wanna get outta the city for a few hours to shred some trails and see some killer views with an rad guide. That rainbow was the best. Definitely need to add a mountain bike to my fleet of 5 bikes to gain more skill for next year when I come back into town.

Excellent way to spend your time! This was perfect- the scenery was stunning and the guide did such a great job of guiding the trip at everyone's skill level. We were challenged and could pace the trip by our level not the fastest- slowest group member. The guide had lots of great local information, was incredibly helpful with technique and getting us set up with the equipment. I cannot recommend enough! I wish I could remember his name, he was friendly and introduced himself, I am terrible at remembering names....

Great Day Off the Strip! What a special day we had with Irving at Red Rock Canyon. My husband and I were the only folks on the trip that day which worked out great for us. We loved getting all the attention! We decided to take the hike that went into the canyon vs on top of it and it was a great choice for us. It was not strenuous at all and it was so beautiful to be surrounded by the beautiful canyon looking up at its vastness. Irving was so AWESOME! He was very knowledgable about the canyon, fauna, flora, and just the area in general. We appreciated him being flexible and giving us lots of moments to capture the beautiful canyon with photos as well as time to just soak in the view. Irving had a gentle, unassuming way about him and he was so easy to be around and talk to. It was like we'd known him for years! His style and personality really meshed well with ours. Everything about booking the trip prior to our travels was easy. The coordinators/owners answered my questions before we booked and were accommodating in allowing us to switch our original tour date to one day ahead due to bad weather predictions which really helped us! We are so grateful for our time off the strip, a great time with Irving, and a beautiful canyon hike. This outing completely delivered! Thanks Irving for giving us such a memorable Red Rock Canyon experience. We highly recommend this trip - book it, book it, book it!

Terrific Guide and Fantastic Scenery I'm not an experienced hiker but my travel companions were so we booked this trip to get off the strip for a half day. Our guide Scott was THE BEST! He was very attentive to me as a novice hiker. He knew when to hold out a hand to help me, checked on me often, happily took pictures of us, and made sure we hydrated often (he even carried my water in his day pack!). It's a strenuous hike but well worth the vistas you're rewarded with, much as Scott had promised us. He's also a really interesting and authentic guy -- the type of person you'd love to have a beer with or have as a neighbor. The logistics of the trip went very smoothly as well. I highly recommend this hike! You will not be disappointed.

Fun Outdoor Experience Away From Vegas Craziness We were in Las Vegas for 4 days for a birthday, and wanted to get some fresh air and a little exercise out in the desert, away from the city. This was our first e-bike experience (we're usually hikers), and we LOVED it!! Each cyclist can make the effort as hard or as easy as you want; we went easier (more power assisted) to enjoy the scenery and fresh air. The scenery of Red Rock Canyon was fantastic, and the exercise and fresh air and quiet was such a welcomed break from the sensory overload of The Strip...but just ~20 miles away, an easy half day nature adventure. The tour company ran things smoothly and was well organized, and our guide Irving was fantastic: very personable and knowledgeable and took tons of pictures of us in the scenery! We would absolutely do this again!
