The Escape Adventures Experience

Stop, go outdoors. Take a deep breath. Ride, Hike, Relax. Experience it all. Welcome to Escape Adventures.

Escape Adventures is often imitated, but never duplicated

Since 1992, we have innovated adventure travel. We were the first to bring multi-day off road touring to Taos New Mexico, Escalante and Brianhead Utah, Arkansas and Nevada to name a few. We built the only support vehicle that could take guests all the way into the Maze District of Canyonlands National Park. We brought signature food recipes to backcountry camping that are now staples on many of our clients dining room tables. We were the first to offer full suspension bikes in the bike touring business. The first and only company that has built environmentally friendly, LEED Platinum- Net Zero Energy facilities to house both operational and retail business. We standardized the bicycle rack systems to haul bicycles safely across the rough desert terrain of Moab Utah. We are often one of the few companies that annually clears downfall on the trails we use.

For over 25 years, the hallmark of an Escape Adventures tour is personalized, hands-on service. Before, during, and after each trip. We are a company of honesty and integrity and we stand behind our product 100%. From the moment you learn of our trips, to the time you return home and start planning your next trip, we are here to bring you the best possible experience.

From our Guaranteed Trip Departure Confirmation Policy, making sure your trip is never cancelled, to our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee Policy, backing the unrivaled consistent quality of all our tours, our commitment to you is never compromised.

Our Commitment to The Environment

Our environmental commitment is second to none. It is our way of doing business, our way of being.

At Escape Adventures, we want to make the world a better place. More importantly we believe in leading by example. We run our tours the same way we run our company, with an eye on the triple bottom line: People, Profit & Planet. This means we treat our customers, our community, and our planet with respect, and let our business grow organically. We have always run a value-based and mission-driven company.

At Escape Adventures, we elected to pursue a more comprehensive approach to actually reduce our carbon footprint, rather than just offset it. We overhauled our entire operation — from our vehicles, to our buildings, to our procedures — to become an outdoor industry leader in the charge to help our people and our planet.

Exceptional Service, Exceptional Trip Leaders

Escape Adventures trip leader serving appetizer

Leading tours naturally followed from our passion of exploring our favorite places with our friends. As we’ve expanded our service throughout the years from daily biking tours to a vast selection of multi-day mountain biking, road biking, hiking, and multi-sport tours across the nation, our philosophy hasn’t changed. For us it’s all about enjoying and protecting the natural environment and sharing the places and activities we love.

Our support staff includes our reservation team who is there to answer your questions about the tours, our service team who prepares your bike and gear for the tour, and our guide team – the ones who take you into the great outdoors. The highest level of responsibility, good nature, integrity, and dedication are standard traits of all those who work at Escape Adventures. We our proud of it and we think you should know it.

The Best Support Vehicles

Having custom-made vehicles allows us to take you to places few other outfitters can, or will go. Every Escape Adventures tour is accompanied by at least one support vehicle, trailer, and in some cases a second and third transfer van. As you thumb through our catalog, you will also notice our vehicles are big, tough, and different. These are not stock vehicles. After purchase, we custom engineer our trucks, vans, and trailers by our on-staff mechanic to meet the unique needs of different tours. For example, certain trucks are specifically designed for The White Rim and The Maze, while others are designed for The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. We also innovate and try new things with our fleet; Notably, in 2007, we converted many of our support vehicles to vegetable-oil burning engines. We were able to reduce our carbon footprint significantly for more than 5 years! Amazingly, we didn’t sacrifice performance.

It doesn’t just end with a great support vehicle, you need experienced and qualified drivers. Each of our guides is required to be trained in safe vehicle operation, 4X4 driving, and basic maintenance. Our experienced guides make it look easy, transporting you and up to 12 guests, along with their bikes, fresh food, camping gear and plenty of drinking water to a remote location.

The Best Bicycles and Gear

Escape Adventures tour bikes

Make your trip as comfortable as possible on the body, as simple as possible for traveling, and hasstle free on tour. By choosing to rent a bike from us, we will fit you with the newest, highest quality gear in the industry. Escape Adventures provides only high-end bicycles from Santa Cruz and Specialized. We replace our rental fleet each season to ensure all our rentals meet our standards. All of our mountain bikes are equipped with full suspension frames and disc brakes designed for a smooth, comfortable ride. For those who are touring with a companion who may not be as fit or need a little help up the hills, we now have eMountainbikes (electric pedal assist) available on select tours.

Camping gear may be rented or you may bring your own. All of our camping gear is tested and hand-chosen from top manufacturers to ensure you get a good nights’ sleep. Our camp gear package includes a three-man tent with fly and a ground tarp, 30-degree sleeping bag, bag liner, raised cot, camp pillow, and sleeping pad.

The Best Food

Our food isn’t just good, it’s good for you. Food is a big part of the Escape Adventures experience. Our guides prepare all of your meals on our camping trips, while most dinners and breakfasts are served at local restaurants on our inn tours. Expect three delicious meals a day consisting entirely of freshly prepared foods. These include fresh organic fruits and vegetables as well as meats. We also have energy snacks aboard our support vehicles. Don’t be surprised if your guides purchase fresh fruits and healthy snacks throughout the day while you are out riding. They may just show up on the trail with a local treat!

On our Camping Tours guides prepare gourmet meals out in the open, grilling fajitas over an open fire and baking enchilada pie in an outdoor Dutch oven. Some of our guests’ favorite guide specialties include blueberry pancakes for breakfast, veggie-feta wraps and pasta for lunch, and bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms and deep dish pizza for dinner. And we don’t forget the dessert either- from pineapple upside down cake to chocolate fondue, there’s sure to be something to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Many of our guests are vegans or vegetarians, whom we are more than happy to accommodate. If you have special diet requirements or limitations, just let us know when you sign-up and we’ll work with you to meet your needs.

The Best and Most Unique Accommodations

We know that a good night’s sleep is the key to a great day of adventure. With Escape Adventures you are able to experience unique style and local hospitality in the best inns and campsites available.

Luxury Inns and Premiere Restaurants

When we refer to the term Luxury, we refer to, “the very best”. Our founder, Jared Fisher, not only claims a professional education in Hotel and Restaurant Management, he’s also a student of the culinary arts. His working knowledge and familiarity with elite hospitality carried over to the selection of our lodgings. Each Luxury Inn was handpicked in advance: the criteria being 4-5-star service, room quality, and cultural themes. Our restaurants are chosen in a similar fashion: emphasizing experience and culture, but with particular attention paid to best local ingredients. Look for Luxury Inns and Restaurants on select tours.

Casual Inns, Cool Hotels, and Cozy Cabins

Escape Adventures casual inn tour lodging

Because of the nature of our very remote trekking and traveling locales, we retire to only the best, handpicked hotels and available inns. Put another way, we take your decompression seriously. Our Casual Inn tours provide the best of both worlds: enjoy exciting outdoor adventures by day; then return to town each evening for a scrumptious meal. Followed by bedding down warm and ultra comfortably.

We choose inn accommodations that add another rather distinct dimension to your travel. From special amenities like hot tubs and fireplaces, to historic character and unique charm, our inns offer you something extra. While the inns featured on our tours vary from rustic cabins to luxurious spa retreats, we always seek out lodging to enhance and complement the unique flavor of each destination. After all, your evenings shouldn’t be a break from an outstanding trip, but rather a flawless extension of it.

Escape Adventures has developed a special program to seek out and support only high quality, if not most environmentally conscious suppliers. This operating mindset ensures that those who furnish accommodations on our trips share our passion for protecting our environment. So not only do all of our inns offer outstanding service and reliable, inviting accommodations, many also share concern for our communities. And the only planet we have.

First-Class Camping

The food tastes better, the sky is certainly bigger, and your mind is clearer.

There is nothing better than rolling into camp to fresh made chips and salsa, homemade guacamole, and Dutch oven enchiladas. Then making your way to a sweet and inviting campfire, sharing your favorite anecdote or image from the day’s activities while marshmallows roast. Enjoy a small-batch, local beer before retiring to your tent. Inside: a sturdy raised cot, fluffy sleeping bag, and a plush full size pillow. Wow. You earned this. Sweet dreams.

We choose well-maintained public campgrounds with scenic vistas and comfortable arrangements. You’ll move seamlessly from one day of your trip to the next, camping outdoors and enjoying wildly healthy, delicious homemade meals.

The majority of our selected campgrounds feature indoor facilities and showers. Conversely, in more remote backcountry camping scenarios, we’ll provide portable toilets and private solar showers.

Camping gear may be rented or you may bring your own. All of our camping gear is tested and hand-chosen from top manufacturers to ensure you get a good nights’ sleep. Our camp gear package includes a three-man tent with fly and a ground tarp, 30-degree sleeping bag, bag liner, camp pillow, and self-inflating ground pad.

The Most Traveling Options

Year after year our guests return with their family and friends. Why? Because we build each trip around your needs. We work within your financial boundaries to make your trip the best value. Our Guaranteed Trip Departure Confirmation, 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, Price Match Guarantee, and Loyal Guest Program are a few reasons nearly all of our guests return year after year.

The Original Escape Adventures Trip

An Escape Adventure trip is a great way to enjoy the company of other active travelers and the camaraderie of shared interests. Travel Solo or with a friend- or two. A cornerstone to our trips are small groups. For over 25 years, Escape Adventures has been taking outdoor enthusiasts beyond the “average” vacation and into the exciting world of small-group adventure travel. Our Guide to Guest ratio is the best in the industry, with an average of 1 guide for every 5 guests. Our small groups of 6 to 13 guests allow for flexible schedules, individualized service, comfort, and deeper backcountry adventure. Don’t be surprised if you come away from your tour with more friends than you had when you arrived!

Many of our tours include guests traveling on their own. Our structured tours and small groups are ideal for solo travelers. On Inn Tours we offer a single-supplement to guarantee you have your own room, or you can let us try to pair you up and share a room with 2 queen beds with another traveler. If we don’t find you a match, you still get your own room at no additional cost to you.

Great Afternoon Hike I ended up being the only participant on our tour & the company was gracious enough to let me go. Dakota was a great guide, asking questions to determine the appropriate hike. We ended up choosing Ice Box Canyon & it was a perfect afternoon hike. The scenery so close to the strip is amazing. Dakota was very knowledgeable about the location. I felt very safe & comfortable & definitely recommend this tour. It’s a great get-away from the crowds.

Red rock canyon unguided cycle ride Good equipment provided by the organiser but after a few minutes wished I'd gone with the electric assist option. If you're a mountain climber you'll love the first 5 miles. If you're built like me (more suited to the downhill) you'll enjoy everything after the first 5 miles!! It is warm so take water and sunscreen.

5 Day MTB tour of the Grand Canyon From the pre-trip interaction over email to the last day drop off, this tour was outstanding.
I travelled Solo to the USA from the UK to explore the GC MTB trails with Escape Adventures, led on tour by Bobby, Roy and Austin. The food, hospitality, knowledge and professionalism shown was phenomenal. The MTB trails were exciting and made all the climbs worth it. Don't be fooled by the seemingly low mileage, it's hard work, at altitude (7-9k ft) and will put even the seasoned rider through their paces.
I was fortunate enough to meet 7 fabulous riding companions on the trip and we all helped each other with our riding abilities.
The camp gear for hire and the hire bike (specialized stump jumper carbon) was of excellent quality and well maintained. The best thing about the trip was having no mobile phone signal and being in the wilderness enabling you to switch off from daily life, enjoy the surroundings (3.5hrs drive to the nearest town) and get back to the basics of human interaction and exploration.
I will be booking another trip in 2024 without a doubt.
Thanks to the whole EA team for a wonderful holiday.

Wonderful hiking trip in Ice Box Canyon I had a lot of fun on this hiking trip. Our guide saw that we were all reasonably fit, so she gave us some additional hiking options. We ended up going to Ice Box Canyon, which is a slightly challenging walk up a creek ending in a waterfall. Beautiful sights all around and some fun skipping rocks and trying not to fall in the water (and occasionally failing). It was a wonderful time to spend half a day away from the strip.

Excellent 72 year old here. Did Aquarius Trail last week of July. Hot, high and fantastic. You should be ready to climb, do 20+ miles/day and be very comfortable on a mountain bike. Great food, guides and huts. I recommend this highly.

Beautiful, fun, unique Christine and this tour were the highlight of my trip to LV. I was fortunate to be part of a small group, with a lot of input on what we did, and able to get to talk to everyone. She was a safe driver, and very confident in caring for us on the hike. This was so much fun, I would absolutely love to do another trail when I return.

An wonderful way to explore the Red Rock Canyon Our guide was fantastic. She was an experienced hiker and took us on a gentle hike at our request and share her knowledge of the area. We took and afternoon hike and in the future, I would probably reserve a morning because of the heat.

Just an Awesome Experience Absolutely fantastic! Our guides were Jess and Gavin and they could not have done a better job. This was my first time on a tour like this and it was very well executed! We had a couple of things that could have ruined the trip (flat tire on van and broken chain) but our guides not only sprang into action but were extremely professional and fixed the issues immediately.

The food was amazing as well as the balance of riding and just relaxing and taking in the gorgeous views. The planning was perfect. The communication throughout the day was professional and fun!

I will definitely be booking a future tour and will be telling my friends all about this company.

You guys rock!

Didn’t want to leave!! Grand Teton / Yellowstone was amazing!! We have done 25 bike tours, abd we loved it! Could have stayed at least another week! Scenic, flat riding at the base of the Grand Tetons, with easy access to Jenny and Jackson Lakes, amazing wildlife and dining back in Jackson. Yellowstone is amazing, and being able to bike past lines of cars gives you time to see (and smell) more! Morgan and Emily were quick on their feet to adapt to weather and riders while making us delicious lunches and feeling welcomed. Capped it off with a tram ride for 10000 foot views of the Tetons and valley below, with the best waffles on the planet, We would do the trio again in a heartbeat and can’t wait to go on another Escaoe Adventure!!

Hit the jackpot with this tour! It was a beautiful day to ride through the canyon on the loop. The e- bikes were fun to use and we can’t wait to come back and bike some more! It was an easy pick up at the hotel and about a 30 minute ride there from the strip - a completely different Las Vegas.Dakota picked us up and explained what we needed to know before we started and he was there waiting for us at the end. His lectures on urban donkeys entertained us and his knowledge of the area was an added bonus to a great experience.
