The marriage of guided adventure travel tours and the world of luxury RVs capable of off-road travel is now a reality. Escape Adventures has partnered with Blacksford Luxury RV Rentals to offer multi-day guided cycling tours via luxury RV.
Escape Adventures has been around since 1992 and offers trips to more than 100 destinations, with activities ranging from road biking and mountain biking to hiking. Blacksford Luxury RV Rentals offers brand-new, premium RV and camper van rentals in Las Vegas and Yellowstone/Bozeman, Montana, with a Phoenix location set to open in October 2024.
Think of it as the ultimate in pampered camping paired with some of the most dramatic backdrops for adventures in the West. Guests will drive the RVs from campsite to campsite, where they will act as the base camp. It’s a big switch from classic tent camping. Think hot showers, wi-fi, and a comfortable bed, perks that might win over a spouse or partner who doesn’t like to rough it. Blacksford uses a fleet of Winnebago EKKO, Solis, Revel, and View vehicles designed for Western terrain.
The vehicles are fully equipped and come with unlimited mileage, all-inclusive pricing, flexible pick-up and drop-off times, and 24/7 support. Escape Adventures provides airport transfers, vehicle orientation, and a complimentary National Parks pass. Each Blacksford RV rental has fresh linens, blankets, and quality cookware.
The standout feature of these RV itineraries is that they are multi-day guided tours. All transportation, food preparation, meals, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, group supplies, and community gear (such as portable chairs, awnings, and coolers) are included. Backcountry permits, licenses, park fees, and reservations are included, along with at least two professionally trained trip leaders, a mobile first aid and mechanic station, spare bikes, and a support vehicle.
Escape Adventures takes care of booking the campsites, setting up camp, preparing your food, building a fire in the evening, and setting up camp. That leaves you with a full day of adventures and return to a perfectly set-up RV campsite in the late afternoon. There’s nothing left to do but pop a cold beer and relax.
The first itineraries are six-day multi-sport trips in Canyonlands, Arches, and Moab via road bike or mountain bike. Moab’s backcountry provides a terrific setting for a multi-sport RV adventure and Moab’s vertical landscape offers guests a fantastic introduction to canyoneering and river rafting.
At Arches, guests will hike through pinnacles, arches, pedestals, and balancing rocks that seem to defy the laws of physics. At Dead Horse Point and Island in the Sky, there are expansive views of maze-like chasms that typify the biking experience along the acclaimed mesa and singletrack.
These tours are “a perfect way for our clients who love camping tours to kick it up a notch.” said Escape Adventures Founder Jared Fisher in a press release. Blacksford CEO Becky Goodell added that “This partnership with Escape Adventures feels like a perfect match.”
The tours start at $4,274 per person (including RV rental) and can be adapted to accommodate group size and skill levels.
You can think of it as concierge camping for fledgling thrill seekers.
