The new Aquarius Trail Hut system will be up-and-running this summer, offering five huts along a 190-mile bike route through southwest Utah. Each hut is furnished with beds, a bathroom, and a fully-stocked kitchen.
The hut system starts at the 11,300ft peak at Brian Head and descends into the town of Escalante, at 5,820ft. Powell Point, Bryce Canyon National Park, the Brianhead Ski Resort, Red Canyon, Dixie National Forest, and more major landmarks are along the route.
The self-guided tours are available from July through October, starting at $890 a person, for a 6-day, 5-night trip and Escape Adventures will offer guided tours starting at $1,800 a person.
The huts were built using repurposed shipping containers and are spaced about 30 to 40 miles apart along the route. To top it off, the huts are all powered via the sun. Aquarius Trails kept sustainability in mind. Additionally, there are hammocks, decks, fire pits, and tools and bike repair stands to keep guests entertained in the evening and prepared to keep their bikes in shape. Each hut can accommodate 12 to 14 people.
Aquarius Trail also offers trip lengths from 5 days/4 nights down to 3 days/ 2 nights for $550. Of note, they also offer a beer package for $50 a person.
